Ubungo Council asks UDSM for business plan writing skills

Africa-Press – Tanzania. UBUNGO Municipal Council has requested the University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM) to help it in imparting knowledge on business plans writing to small scale entrepreneurs, as a way to grow businesses.

The plea was made by the Ubungo Municipal Director, Ms Beatrice Dominic in Dar es Salaam yesterday in an event where UDSM donated equipment to Kimara Health Center as the institution commemorates its 60th anniversary. She said UDSM has experts in various fields, so in collaboration with the council they could get good and exemplary business plans.

“I ask you to assist us in business plan writing so that we can come up with good business plans to help hawkers in establishing resilient businesses,” she said, adding that the municipality has a lot of work to do to ensure that the people of Ubungo benefit from social activities.

Last month President Samia Suluhu Hassan ordered Regional Commissioners (RCs) to reposition petty traders in a way that they conduct their businesses without affecting shop owners.

The President directed RCs to take action peacefully without elements of force. Petty traders association recently commended the government for setting aside 5bn/- for putting up enabling infrastructure that would help them smoothly conduct their businesses.

The exercise to relocate petty traders to designated areas across the country has been implemented smoothly.
