Africa-Press – Tanzania. THE outgoing Simba goalkeeping coach Milton Nienov said he is happy to leave behind a class of quality goalkeepers he worked together with at the club throughout his tenure.

The Brazilian trainer was among the three technical bench members who parted ways with the club on Tuesday shortly after being eliminated in the CAF Champions League after going down 3-1 to Jwaneng Galaxy in the reverse leg at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam. Others who went separate ways with the club were Head Coach Didier Gomes and physical trainer Adel Zrane.

“I am very happy because what I did with my keepers was the best in my view. For example, Aishi Manula is among the best goalkeepers on the continent and he was voted the best Azam Sports Federation Cup (ASFC) goalie for the last season. “He was also voted the best keeper in the premier league. In my view, Manula is improving a lot as well as Beno Kakolanya and all the goalkeepers I worked with at the club. I am happy with all of them and wish them all the best,” Nienov said. Commenting on his departure, Nienov narrated that he was very disappointed with the decision but he said football is like that and anything can happen on the way. He also pointed out that he was pleased to be part of Simba history of reaching in the quarter finals of the Champions League last season as well as winning the Premier League and ASFC titles.

“I was very happy here but I have to look forward to keep my job in high level. I will try to do my best in another club. I will continue to talk about good things concerning Simba wherever I will go,” he said.

He also showered praises on Simba fans saying they always support the team regardless whether the team win or lose calling the same spirit to continue. Simba have been drawn to face Red Arrows in the CAF Confederation Cup playoffs whereby a win in both games, will see them reaching in the group stage of the contest.

Simba will host the first leg game on November 28th at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in the city before getting off to face them in the reverse battle in Zambia on December 5th.
