Africa-Press – Tanzania. President Samia Suluhu Hassan has passed five bills including the fire and rescue legislation that legalize the unit officers to use firearms when discharging their duties.
Tabling the Fire and Rescue Amendment Bill 2021 in the National Assembly Assembly in September the government explained that the purpose of the amendment is to strengthen security of the unit’s infrastructure, the officers as well as officials.
The law now requires all toler buildings measuring 12 meters high to submit the architectural designs detailing fire systems prior to construction work. It also adopts penalties for disobedience.
National Speaker Job Ndugai announced that other bills asserted include The Written Laws Miscellaneous Amendments act No 3, 4 and 5 both of 2021 and The Accountant and Auditors Registration Amendment Bill of 2021.
