Africa-Press – Tanzania. THE International Cricket Council (ICC-African Region) has released a fixture for the forthcoming ICC T20 men’s World Cup Sub-Regional African finals, to be held in Kigali, Rwanda.

The fixture shows that Tanzania will play against Nigeria on November 17th this year, while Kenya will on the same day play against Uganda.

Tanzania qualified for the four-team regional finals after winning in the just ended SubRegional Qualifiers held in the same country. In the tournament, Tanzania was too good for Cameroon, Sierra Leone, Mozambique and Botswana. With Kenya and Nigeria being the two highest-ranked teams, both sides progressed directly to the regional final.

According to the Tanzania Cricket Association (TCA), the national team will remain in Rwanda waiting for the finals. The finals will be part of the progression to the T20 in pursuit for the T20 World Cup finals to be played next year.

The finals will be hosted at Gahanga International Cricket Stadium and IPRC (Integrated Polytechnic Regional College) Kicukiro Ground in Kigali. Tanzania has for years been competing for World Cup qualification but to no avail, but this time around, the edging closer to the dream land.
