Africa-Press – Tanzania. THE national team captain, Abhik Patwa has said that his side does not fear any side in the forthcoming 4- Nation ICC T20 men’s World Cup African finals to be held early next week in Kigali, Rwanda.
The Tanzanian boys excelled in the just concluded ICC Africa Sub-Regional Qualifiers, winning the title to sail through to the next week’s finals at the expanse of Mozambique, Sierra Leone, Botswana and Cameroon.
Kenya and Uganda will be among challengers in the forthcoming assignment and what Patwa says is that they just respect them, but not fearing them.
“The whole team looks very confident and energetic for the next tournament” “I don’t see any threat from any team in the next tournament, though they are good and challenging sides”, said Patwa, one of the seasoned and experienced national team players, with breath-taking records in the international assignments.
“We will be taking one game at a time and make sure that we follow our plans and processes,” he concluded.
The Tanzanian boys, under tutelage of Kenyan coach, Steve Tikolo, have remained in Kigali, drilling for the next African final edition to be held at the same venues.
The International Cricket Council (ICC-African region) has already issued a fixture for the forthcoming ICC T20 men’s World Cup Sub-Regional African finals to be held in Kigali, Rwanda.
The fixture shows that Tanzania will on November 17th play Nigeria while Kenya will on the same day play Uganda. With Kenya and Nigeria being the two highest-ranked teams, both sides have progressed directly to the regional final.
The Tanzania Cricket Association (TCA) is also confident that the boys will once again break the ice and progress further to the World Cup.
