Africa-Press – Tanzania. MARA Regional Commissioner (RC) Ally Hapi has ordered speedy construction of classrooms in the region with funds from the recently issued Covid-19 relief package from the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
Mr Happi gave the order after inspecting the construction projects in various places in the region, early this week in Rorya, Tarime and Serengeti districts.
As he ordered speedy implementation of the construction work he also warned against substandard works.
“Increase the speed, all the required amount of money has already been brought, and the President Samia Suluhu Hassan wants all children to get education and build the nation in the future,” the regional commissioner said while in Tarime Town Council on Wednesday.
The current government under president Samia has given Tarime Town Council funds to build over 30 classrooms.
But the RC also warned against misuse of the funds allocated for construction of classrooms in public secondary schools across the region.
Tarime Town Council Chairman Mr Daniel Komote promised close supervision of the work.
