Africa-Press – Tanzania. SIMBA and Young Africans enjoy equal statistics as per their eight head to head derbies prior to the coming clash at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam tomorrow.

A total of 12 goals have been netted in their previous eight head-to head encounters dating from 2017/18 Premier League season hence; history books are set to be redrafted tomorrow.

Coincidentally, each side has scored six goals from eight meetings they have had since the 2017/18 season as such; until this time, the scale for both teams balanced.

Again, from their eight previous clashes, Simba have won twice likewise their counterparts Yanga while four outings between them have ended in draws.

The only match during this period which produced many goals was a 2-2 draw played on January 4th, 2020, whereby Yanga trailed by two goals down to level the scoreboard hence enabling them to share spoils. On the day, Simba went ahead with two first half goals from Meddie Kagere and Deo Kanda before a thunderous second stanza strike by Mapinduzi Balama and a sharp header by Mohamed Banka which saved his side.

During this hard to forget encounter, Simba were under then Head Coach Sven Vandenbroeck while Yanga were navigated by their former coach Charles Boniface Mkwasa ‘Master’ and it was a game which will remain in memories of many football fraternity.

This match witnessed an invader who made his way onto the pitch early in the second half before he was nabbed by security officers. The incident halted the game momentarily and no harm was reported.

Also, from their past eight duels, there have been four draws with one being a goalless draw (0-0) which was played on September 30th 2018. Now, going into this brand new encounter, both sides have played seven matches in the rolling NBC Premier League with Simba winning five games while Yanga have won six.

They have, however, equalled on five statuses of not losing any league match, not conceding own goal(s), not saving spot-kicks, not recording a hat-trick as well as producing five clean sheets apiece.
