Africa-Press – Tanzania. THE government has dished out more than 1bn/- to Same District to finance various development projects and step up the fight against Covid-19.

The whopping amount of money would also be channeled to the construction of classrooms and rehabilitation of secondary schools in the district.

Kilimanjaro CCM Regional National Executive Committee Member (NEC) Suleiman Mfinanga said the ruling party was satisfied with the pace of the implementation of the projects in the district.

“I would like to congratulate district leaders for executing the projects which tie well with CCM’s manifesto,” he said.

According to Mr Mfinanga, the government had set aside another 20m/- for the construction of classrooms.

On his part, Same District Commissioner Edward Mpogolo exuded confidence that the funding will help improve students’ performance.

“I’m happy to inform you that 56 classrooms are now at final stages of construction, we therefore expect to hand them anytime from now,” revealed the District Commissioner.

For her part, Same District Executive Director (DED), Anastazia Tutuba said the project will help alleviate the severe shortage of classrooms in the district.

“I want to assure that these classrooms will be put to good use and help students in their quest for knowledge,” she said.

Detailing further, Ms Tutuba further revealed that about 56 rooms will be handed over, with Same East receiving 29 while 27 will be built in Same West.

The District Executive Director further lauded Same residents for their unwavering support to the government in ensuring that the projects come to fruition.
