Africa-Press – Tanzania. SIMIYU Regional Commissioner David Kafulila has pledged to give incentives and prizes worth 81m/- to Form Four graduates who haveexceledin 2021 Form IV National Examinations in the region.

Kafulila made the statement on Thursday at a conference organized by the Association of Traditional Healers in the region, a forum held at the Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) Stadium in Bariadi District and attended by traditional doctors from all districts of the region.

He said in the last year’s National Examinations, the region was in third position in national rankings, butexpressed optimism that it will climb to the first position in this year’s National Examination Results.

“When I was appointed as the Simiyu Regional Commissioner in 2020, I found that the region was in fifth position in Form Four Examination results but in 2021 results it has become the third,” he said.

He also used the occasion to hand over certificates to traditional healers from Maswa, Bariadi, Itilima, Busega and Meatu districtsin recognizing their contribution.

For her part, the Guardian of the Association of Traditional healers in Simiyu Region, Ms Shemsha Mohamed, who is also the CCM Chairperson for Simiyu Region, handed over to RC Kafulila the donation of 13 cows and 53 goats donated by the traditional doctors as part of contributing to incentives for teachers and students.

For his part, Chairperson for Traditional healers in the Region, Mr ShijaLimbe, handed over a cash of 1.4m/- donated by the traditional healers at the forum.

The members of the group further pledged additional 300,000/- in supporting the region’s efforts to improve education sector.
