Chinese embassy brings smile to students with disabilities

Africa-Press – Tanzania. CHINESE Embassy in Tanzania has donated school requirements to Uhuru Mchanganyiko Primary School worth 18m/- to support children with disabilities who live at the school campus.

The donation which included food, medicine, clothes, cooking wares, bedding stuff and school uniforms were handed over to the Dar es Salaam City Education Officer for Primary Schools, Sipora Tenga by Chinese Ambassador to Tanzania Chen Mingjian.

During the occasion, the Chinese Ambassador noted that the donation follows long-term relations between Tanzania and China in various fields, including supporting the government’s effort to improve the provision of education by assisting students with disabilities to reach their education goals.

She urged other development partners to be part of the society by helping other students with special needs in various schools.

She pledged to continue supporting the work being done by the government in all sectors.

On his part, representative of Dar es Salaam City Mayor who is also an Officer from the Institute of Adult Education Hamis Mlangala commended the Chinese Embassy, teachers and other stakeholders for supporting the education sector in the country.

On her part, Ms Tenga said that President Samia Suluhu Hassan’s visits abroad have brought positive impact by strengthening diplomatic relations with various countries including China.

She commended the Chinese Embassy for the support and called on other development partners to cooperate by working together with them in addressing some challenges, including lack of school vehicles and Information and Communication Technology (ICT) gadgets.
