Elders’ Council Commends Dr Samia’S Motherly Pardon

Africa-Press – Tanzania. THE Dar es Salaam Elders’ Council has expressed gratitude to President Samia Suluhu Hassan for her decision directing the relevant authorities to release youths who had been arrested in connection with unrest that occurred during and after this year’s general election, allowing them to return to their families.

Speaking today, December 2, 2025, in Dar es Salaam, the Council’s Chairperson, Salumu Matimbwa, said the move reflects the strength and competence of President Samia’s leadership, guided by her 4Rs philosophy, which has continued to promote unity and stability in the country. He assured the President that the Elders’ Council will continue to offer close cooperation in efforts to safeguard national peace and cohesion.

“As parents and guardians, we will continue to fulfill our responsibility by advising and guiding our young people as they work to build their lives and achieve their dreams. For them to succeed, it is essential that an environment of peace, stability, love, and unity is maintained,” he said..

The Chairperson further added that the Council continues to pray for President Samia to be granted more strength, good health, and wisdom so that she may continue leading the nation in advancing the major development initiatives she has begun.
