KIBAHA Residents Urged to Support Development Efforts

Africa-Press – Tanzania. KIBAHA Municipal Council Executive Director (DED), Dr Rodgers Shemwelekwa, has called upon residents to continue supporting the government in the implementation of development projects for their own benefit.

Dr Shemwelekwa made the remarks on Wednesday after concluding a one-day tour to inspect various development projects in Picha ya Ndege Ward. He was accompanied by heads of departments and sections from the Municipal Council.

“The government needs your continued support in implementing its activities, especially development projects aimed at improving your livelihoods and advancing the nation as a whole. I urge you to maintain close collaboration to accelerate development,” he said.

During the tour, Dr Shemwelekwa and his team inspected eight projects worth a total of 1.6 billion/- funded through both the Municipal’s own sources and government contributions.

Projects financed by the Municipal’s own sources included street road maintenance (30m/-), construction of business centres at Kwambonde Street (562.5m/-), completion of one classroom at Lulanzi Primary School (8m/-), construction of a ward office (24.5m/-), and one classroom at Mkuza Primary School (20m/-).

The team also inspected the ongoing construction of the district hospital, jointly financed by the Government and the Municipal Council at a cost of 706.7m/-, as well as the procurement of medical equipment worth 300m/- provided by the Government.

Residents of Picha ya Ndege Ward expressed their appreciation for the governments and council’s efforts to address challenges affecting their daily lives, pledging to continue offering their full support toward ongoing development initiatives.
