New Simba Coach predicts successful spell

Africa-Press – Tanzania. THE newly hired Simba Head Coach Zoran Manojlovic has envisioned a successful spell at the club while assuring fans of big wins under his tutelage.

The Serbian trainer will land in the country soon to link up with his new army ahead of pre-season and 2022/23 season which will see the Msimbazi street giants competing in CAF Championship League and Premier League.

He succeeds Spanish tactician Pablo Franco who parted ways with the former champions with five league fixtures to play amid poor performance hence it is an opportunity for his successor to showcase what he has in store for Simba.

Via a brief video recorded clip made available through Simba’s official Instagram page recently, Manojlovic stated: “I hope we will have a good one year, many wins and with support from our fans who help the club to be the biggest.”

However, the new coach has a big task to push Simba back to its full potential especially after ending last season without a major trophy as they won only Mapinduzi Cup in Zanzibar before the league start.

The club’s Media and Communications Manager Ahmed Ally recently confirmed that Manojlovic has been given three priorities of ensuring that next season, the team wins the Community Shield trophy, Premier League title, Azam Sports Federation Cup (ASFC) silverware and drive them into CAF Champions League semis. He also pointed out that the one-year contract he has been given has an extension option which will be made possible basing on his overall performance saying if he performs well, they will not hesitate to prolong it.

“If he is going to perform well according to what the club wants, definitely, his contract will be extended. You can give a coach a five year deal but fire him just five months if he is not performing in respect to the agreed terms.

“The most important thing we are looking for is good performance from him. Contract extension will come basing on the way he is going to stamp success at the club.

“For Simba fans, they should not worry about the contract duration provided he is able to bring happiness to them and if he succeeds, then even before the end of his contract, it will be extended,” Ally said.
