Africa-Press – Tanzania. POLICE in Rukwa region are holding Tanga Thadeo (30) for allegedly hiring 10 pupils to help him exhume a body of his two year old late child so that he could resurrect him.

The child died suddenly on June 16 and was buried on June 17 this year at Kasisiwe graveyard.

The man, a resident of Kasisiwe area here in the municipality promised to pay each pupil 1,000/-, which means he could pay them a total of 10,000/- Rukwa Regional Police Commander (RPC), Theopista Mallya, confined the incident during a phone interview with this paper on Thursday.

Narrating the incident,the RPC said that the child of the suspect died after he fell sick and was buried on June 17th, this year at Kasisiwe grave yard near Kasisiwe Primary School.

She further said that on June 22nd, this year Thadeo went to Kasisiwe grave yard to dig out the grave which his two years old child was buried five days ago.

“He hired ten pupils from Kasisiwe Primary School to help him dig out the grave.”

He promised to pay them 10,000/- so that each could earn 1,000/-” explained the RPC.

She went on to explain that whistle blowers alerted police officers that the grave at Kasisiwe graveyard was dug out and the body was exhumed.

“We mounted manhunt and finally we arrested Thadeo who confessed to have exhumed the body of his child after failing to resurrect the deceased child he abandoned the composed body to the nearby bush” explained the RPC.

She further explained that then suspect will be arraigned into court once preliminary investigations of his case are completed.
