Africa-Press – Tanzania. WORLD Golf Teachers Association (WGTA) certified coach Tanzanian professional golfer Nazir Tajudeen has organised a life time golf opportunity for junior golfers titled summer camp.

The first and of its kind junior golf camp is scheduled to be held at the Dar es Salaam Gymkhana Club (DGC) from July 4th to 8th this year.

Organiser, Pro Tajuneed told the ‘Daily News’ in Dar es Salaam yesterday that preparation for the camp has been finalised.

Tajuneen stressed that there will be two camp sessions of five days each which will also be staged from July 11th to 15th at the same DGC club.

He said that the camp is eligible for juniors’ boys and girls between 6 to 12 years old.

Tajudeen, who is also a US Kids golf certified coach and qualifying student reaching various levels and he is eligible for going up to USKIds World Championship events.

“We have organised the youth camp, it is the first ever camp that will open opportunities to local youths,” he said.

The coach said that the camp will be open for those who are absolute beginners and experienced junior golfers.

He said that golfers will play, qualify and get certified through the camps.

“We will have lessons in different levels from, and will start with level 1 to level 10,” he said.

He named lessons to be conducted during the camp as putting, chipping and golf knowledge equipment and safety in Day one, followed by revision, pitching, golf knowledge, rules, words and phrases in day two, while day three will be revision, bunker, golf knowledge, etiquette, words and phrases.

On day four, the kids will learn revision, full swing, golf knowledge, sportsmanship, respect for the course while camp one final day will revision, game, golf knowledge and sportsmanship lesson.

“Players’ pathway will be quality to 1-3 level recognition certification, future opportunity to qualify up to level 10 to qualify for the competitions local, regional and international competition.

According to organisers, the participation fee will be 200 or 450,000 US Dollars per camp per player which will include 20 hours of training and activities, advanced curriculum for parents, refreshment, awards and certificates and training facilities.

This is the first time to have such a programme that will open the door for talented youth to land scholarships.
