Africa-Press – Tanzania. SEA Cliff Resort & Spa Zanzibar is gearing up for yet another exciting chapter in its growing golf calendar, following a highly successful November Golf Challenge that delivered drama, precision, and top-tier competition on the breathtaking Mangapwani course.
The course has now announced plans to adjust the date of its upcoming December Golf Challenge, proposing December 20, 2025, as the new tournament day instead of December 27.
The move follows several golfers’ requests for a change to accommodate their holiday travel schedules. Sophie Nyanjera, the Golf Manager at Sea Cliff Resort & Spa Zanzibar, emphasised the importance of accommodating players’ needs during the holiday season.
She confirmed that several participants had requested a date adjustment for December, prompting the club to consider moving the event to 20th December.
“We value our golfers’ input,” she said, “and we want to ensure everyone has the opportunity to participate comfortably.
” The November edition, held on the par-9 Sea Cliff course last week, set a high bar for the months ahead.
The tournament attracted golfers from across the region, all eager to test their skills against the windswept fairways and ocean-lined greens that have become the signature of the Mangapwani layout. With near-perfect conditions and a well-conditioned course, the stage was set for standout performances.
Kazim Suleman emerged as the star of the November event, capturing the overall championship with an impressive 39 points in the 18-hole Stableford competition, just one point behind was Collins Chemng’orem, who delivered a spirited challenge throughout the day to secure the runner-up position with 38 points, Patrick O’Rourke with 36 points, rounding off the top three winners.
Happiness Eliakim claimed the Ladies’ Winner title with 34 points, showcasing both finesse and accuracy in her round, as Chiku Elias put up a commendable performance to secure the Ladies’ Runner-up spot with 31 points.
The event is designed as another 18-hole Stableford competition, promising the same blend of challenge and charm that golfers have come to expect from Sea Cliff’s coastal course.
The entry fee remains accessible at $53 per person, covering green fee, golf cart, driving range practice, and lunch, according to Nyanjera. The December Golf Challenge is shaping up to be a fitting finale to a remarkable golfing year at Sea Cliff Resort & Spa.
