Africa-Press – Tanzania. A DIGITAL transformation of energy management and automation firm, Schneider Electric, has unveiled solar solutions that provide clean power to communities with limited access to energy.

Vice President for Access to Energy Business Development in the Middle East and Africa with Schneider Electric, Olivier Jacquet, launched in Dar es Salaam on Wednesday the two new solar power solutions for communities that have little or no access to en- ergy.

“Launching these new offers demonstrates Schneider Electric’s commitment to ensuring that 100 million people will have access to green energy by 2030.

Homaya Pro is not only easy to use and install but also affordable for people living in remote parts of Af- rica and Asia,” she said.

Speaking at the same occasion, Schneider Electric’s Country President for East Africa, Carol Koech said that the new solar products are designed to withstand extensive use for a wide range of power needs.

Ms Koech pointed out that such products expand Schneider’s portfolio of products and solutions that aim to help reach the United Na- tions’s2030 target of universal access to energy.

“Aligned with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, Schneider Electric is committed to having a positive impact on our many stakeholders, especially when it comes to addressing climate change and social inequality,” she said.

The Schneider Electric’s Country President added, “Our energy efficient products and solutions are designed to help communities that live in locations where the grid is either unreliable or non-existent.”

According to the World Bank, 733 million people worldwide still have no access to electricity.

Africa’s population remains the least electrified in the world, whereas 568 million people across the continent lack electricity access.

The product launch coincided with the three day ongoing Alliance for Rural Electricity’s (ARE) Energy Access Investment Forum 2022 in Dar es Salaam, which started from 28 June, 2022 where representatives from the public and private sectors, including Schneider Electric, are meeting.

Schneider’s new products are now commercially available worldwide.

Homaya Pro powers off-grid communities with reliable, affordable and green electricity.
