Africa-Press – Tanzania. P E R F O R M A N C E S by well-known Tanzania artistes and epic football matches decorated the climax of spectacular ‘Wiki ya Mwananchi’ at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam on Saturday.

Thousands of Young Africans members and fans turned up at the 60,000-seater stadium to mark the epic event which was paraded by a slogan Byuti Byuti and witnessed many activities simply to brighten the beautiful day.

The name Byuti Byuti came from Azam Media sports commentator Peter Otai who does English comments and said those words when Feisal Salum scored a long range goal killer shot against Simba in Azam Sports Federation Cup (ASFC) semifinals at CCM Kirumba Stadium in Mwanza.

“I am very happy for Yanga to use Byuti Byuti slogan. I derived it from English word ‘beautiful’ and Feisal scored a beautiful goal, hence the reason I named it Byuti Byuti.

The goal was unstoppable and so beautiful,” said the Ugandan commentator.

He added that both Yanga and Simba have big fan base in Uganda hence he is honoured to do commentary for the two big clubs in the country and among the best on the continent.

People arrived from all corners of the country ready to be part of another historic event which usually lingers in their minds for an extended period of time while donning green and yellow kits, traditional colours of the club.

To spice up the event, an opening match between Yanga Princes and Ilala Queens was played which saw the former stamping a massive 4-0 triumph as they easily controlled the match.

Immediately after the match, a procession of three domestic league titles won by Yanga last season was made accompanied by Yanga players who donned in black suits and paraded around the pitch greetings their fans.

Yes, it was a befitting ceremony for the defending champions who are set to have a challenging 2022/23 campaign as they will be compelled to defend the silverwares they claimed.

Afterwards, performances by different artistes was staged simply to ignite the well-attended arena which was completely covered in green and yellow attires with some blowing trumpets.
