AfricaPress-Tanzania: The Sports Charity Institute has pledged to ensure it builds 10 sports stadiums in Ilemela district.

Speaking during the distribution of sports equipment to the Ilemela teams, Institute Chairman Rogasian Kaijage said so far they have already built stadiums in Mirongo ward as well as Sabasaba ward.

He said in Ilemela district they will build ten different stadiums.

“We strongly urge the directors to assist us in giving us land and we will build stadiums at our own expense,” said Kaijage.

Kaijage also said their Institute will continue to provide sports equipment. He has asked Government officials to assist them in tax exemptions so that they can bring more sports equipment to various teams in Mwanza region.

He said they will give 10 balls to 50 teams in Ilemela district.

He said sports in the country are facing a lot of infrastructure problems which is hampering the ability to continue sports.

Ilemela State MP Angelina Mabula thanked the institution for their efforts to promote sports in Ilemela district.

He said Ilemela has been working with the Council since 2015 and the institute has been assisting them with equipment for football, basketball, netball and volleyball.

He urged clubs to make sure they make good use of the given balls to bring positive results in sports.

Jonas FC coach Abdallah Maruzuk said he was grateful to the Institute for the equipment they provided.

He called on many stakeholders to continue to commit and help Ilemela teams to do well in various leagues.
