AfricaPress-Tanzania:<\/strong> FIGHT against the Covid-19 in Secondary Schools and higher learning institutions in Dar es Salaam got a fresh impetus yesterday after the Africab Company donated water tanks to facilitate the students\u2019 hand wash.<\/p>\n

The donations of 100 water tanks each carrying 1,000 litres worth 50m\/- would cater for over 65 Secondary Schools and 13 higher learning institutions.<\/p>\n

Receiving the donation from Africab Marketing Manager, David Tarimo, Education, Science and Technology Minister, Prof Joyce Ndalichako, in Dar es Salaam, said the support was timely considering that Form Six and higher learning students have resumed classes amid ongoing fight against the pandemic.<\/p>\n

The minister commended the company for extending the support to the government, saying it shows patriotism for the country, adding: \u201cThese tanks are going to further create better learning environment in schools.\u201d<\/p>\n

However, she asked the institutions to continue adhering to the Ministry of Health, Community Development, Gender, Elderly and Children guidelines in order to tame the disease.<\/p>\n

In a related development, Prof Ndalichako, while representing the Prime Minister, Kassim Majaliwa, at the function, hailed the company for implementing government\u2019s industrialisation agenda.<\/p>\n

On his part, the company\u2019s Marketing Manager, Mr Tarimo praised President John Magufuli for his decision to restrict and keenly monitor imported industrial products.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis has given us strength and encouragement to utilize local market opportunity by increasing production and come up with new products without compromising quality,\u201d Mr Tarimo said, adding: \u201cThe Africab is owned by Tanzanians, and profits obtained benefit Tanzanians.\u201d<\/p>\n

Commenting, the company\u2019 Co-director, Mr Mohamed Ezz, also praised President Magufuli for creating a good local investment atmosphere.<\/p>\n
