Africa-Press – Tanzania. <\/strong><\/span>DAR ES SALAAM:<\/b> RELIGIOUS leaders have been encouraged to continue preaching unity and peace for the prosperous of the country.<\/p>\n

The remark was made over the weekend by the Iran\u2019s Ambassador to Tanzania, Hossein Behineh during the Third Interfaith Academic Conference held in Dar es Salaam.<\/p>\n

A conference that brought together different religions in the country themed \u2019Evolution of belief in the Savior in Religions \u2018was organised by Al-Mustafa international Foundation in collaboration with Iran Culture Center Dar es Salaam.<\/p>\n

\u201cReligious leaders have played a great role in uniting people and ensuring harmony exists, so they should continue to preach unity regardless of religious differences,\u201d the diplomat said.<\/p>\n

In addition, the envoy mentioned Tanzania as a exemplary country where religious leaders regardless of their religious differences can meet and discuss various issues.<\/p>\n

For his side, the leader of Shia Muslims, Sheikh Hemed Jalala, noted that the presence of interfaith conference in the country show that Tanzania has peace , unity and solidality.<\/p>\n

\u201cPresence of this interfaith conference is a sign that Tanzania has peace, unity and solidarity to the extent that people of all religions, leaders of all religions can stay together…I pray to God to continue making Tanzania continues to be a peace centered country in the world and a place of harmony between all religions,\u201d he underlined.<\/p>\n

For his part, The Chairman of the Religious Committee on Peace and Reconciliation, Sheikh Alhad Mussa Salum, has also underlined the significance of preaching unity among clerics adding unity is the source of society\u2019peace while Bishop Charles Howard from Evangelical Church Tanzania said unity among religious leaders will help to rebuke moral decay in society.<\/p>\n

During the conference more than six topics have been discussed including the role of faith in the savior in shaping identity and<\/p>\n

combating oppression in the 21st century, the impact of interfaith dialogue and collective reflections on<\/p>\n

the global expansion of belief in the savior.<\/p>\n
