Africa-Press – Tanzania. <\/strong><\/span>TANZANIA:<\/b> A delegation from Madagascar is expected to visit the country this year to learn how Tanzania manages its mining sector.<\/p>\n

\u2018This was disclosed by the Minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Mr. January Makamba, on his X account (formerly Twitter) on Friday.<\/p>\n

The decision comes after Mr. Makamba\u2019s conversation with Madagascar\u2019s Rasata Rafaravavitafika through a phone call, during which they discussed, among other things, matters related to the African Union and the Southern African Development Community (SADC).<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was good to speak with a colleague, Foreign Minister of Madagascar, H.E Dr. @rafaravavitafi1, on African Union and SADC matters and important bilateral issues. This year, Tanzania will host Malagasy officials to exchange knowledge on the management of the mining sector,\u201d the Minister posted.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Mr. Makamba also expressed sadness and sorrow over the lives lost in a recent terrorist attack in Moscow, Russia. He extended his condolences to the Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation, Sergey Lavrov, through a phone call, adding that they also discussed global and regional peace and security issues.<\/p>\n

\u201cEarlier today, I spoke with the Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation, H.E Sergey Lavrov. I conveyed our condolences for the lives lost in a recent terrorist attack in Moscow. We assessed positively the state of our relations and discussed global and regional peace and security,\u201d he posted.<\/p>\n
