Africa-Press – Tanzania. <\/strong><\/span>DAR ES SALAAM:<\/b> ABSA Bank of Tanzania has underscored the need to impart financial literacy to children to help them make informed financial decisions in the future.<\/p>\n

Absa Bank\u2019s Head of Retail Banking, Ms Ndabu Swere said in Dar es Salaam recently that the bank prioritises educational aspirations by improving banking services related to children.<\/p>\n

\u201cTeaching children about budgeting, saving, and making informed financial decisions cultivates responsibility, discipline, and a sense of control over their financial future,\u201d she said at an event organised for children in need from orphanages under the Adonai El Roi Foundation.<\/p>\n

The Absa Tanzania Head of Retail Products and Strategy Mr Heristraton Genesis said children have many dreams in their lives and Absa is here to support them in fulfilling them.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe offer double interest on the amount held within the children\u2019s account for three months to help children fulfil their educational dreams,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

He said Absa provides banking services for various groups and through these services, the bank also enables children parents and guardians to fulfil their various economic narratives.<\/p>\n

This initiative aligns with Absa\u2019s overarching goal of empowering Africa and Tanzania\u2019s Tomorrow, Together, One Story at a Time.<\/p>\n

The Founder Chief Executive Officer Adonai El Roi (AER), Ms Ngole Melaisho said early exposure to financial education helps children recognise and avoid common financial pitfalls.<\/p>\n

She said financial literacy instils confidence in children as they develop the skills to manage money effectively. This confidence extends beyond financial matters, positively impacting their overall sense of self-efficacy and decision-making abilities.<\/p>\n
