Africa-Press – Tanzania. <\/strong><\/span>ANKARA, TU\u0308RKIYE<\/b>: Tanzania\u2019s President Samia Suluhu Hassan has just arrived at the University of Ankara\u2019s Sihhiye campus where she will be conferred Honorary Doctorate Degree.<\/p>\n

The programme seen by the Daily News Digital shows that seven activities will that will be done during the well-attended event.<\/p>\n

\u201cI respectfully extend my invitation to the ceremony where the Honorary Doctorate Degree will be conferred upon Her Excellency President Samia Suluhu Hassan of the United Republic of Tanzania, in recognition of her valuable contributions to the enhancement of economic and commercial relations between the Republic of Tu\u0308rkiye and the United Republic of Tanzania, as well as the reinforcement of friendship and fraternity ties between the two countries,\u201d says Prof. Dr. Necdet U\u0308NU\u0308VAR, the rector.<\/p>\n

Samia Suluhu Hassan, serving as the sixth and current President of Tanzania, is the first fernale Head of State in the country\u2019s history.<\/p>\n

Previously, she served as the Vice President of Tanzania from 2015 to 2021, and following the death of her predecessor, John Magufuli, she ascended to the presidency of the United Republic of Tanzania on March 19th, 2021.<\/p>\n

President Samia Suluhu Hassan was born on January 27th, 1960, in Zanzibar.<\/p>\n

She completed her secondary education in 1977 and commenced her professional career in 1986, she graduated with an advanced diploma in public administration from the Institute of Development Management (today known as Mzumbe University).<\/p>\n

Between 1992 and 1994, she attended the University of Manchester and obtained a master\u2019s degree in economics. In 2015, she earned a master\u2019s degree in Social Economic Development through a joint program between the Open University of Tanzania and Southern New Hampshire University As a native of Zanzibar, Suluhu held various governmental positions, from 2000 to 2005, she served in the Ministry of Youn Employment, Women and Children of Zanzibar, from 2005 to 2010, she was part of the Ministry of Tours Trade, and investment of Zanzibar, and from 2010 to 2015, she held the position of Minister of State for Union Affairs in the Office of the Vice President of the United Republic of Tanzania.<\/p>\n
