Africa-Press – Tanzania. <\/strong><\/span>Tanzania on Monday started testing its Electric Train with the maiden trip from Dar es Salaam to Dodoma.<\/p>\n

Videos shared online by a traveller of the Dar es Salaam SGR station and inside the train are a marvel to be reckoned with.<\/p>\n

Among the features offered inside the train is free Wifi.<\/p>\n

The train covers 160 kilometres per hour and takes four hours from Dar es Salaam to Dodoma.<\/p>\n

The speed might change in due time as it was in the testing stage.<\/p>\n

The Tanzania Standard Gauge Railway links the country to the neighbouring countries of Rwanda, Uganda and Burundi, and through these to the Democratic Republic of the Congo.<\/p>\n

The new SGR is intended to replace the old, inefficient metre-gauge railway system.<\/p>\n
