Africa-Press – Tanzania. <\/strong><\/span>DAR ES SALAAM:<\/b> Minister of Education, Science, and Technology, Professor Adolf Mkenda, has directed both public and private schools to accommodate students whose schools have been adversely affected by the ongoing rainy season.<\/p>\n

Addressing reporters in Dar es Salaam on Wednesday, Prof. Mkenda promised to release details of students who would have been received into other schools later.<\/p>\n

\u201cMany areas have been affected by floods…education infrastructures have been severely damaged in different areas like Rufiji, Kibiti resulting in the closure of some schools,\u201d he noted.<\/p>\n

The minister said details of students who will be accommodated in other schools should be channeled to Ward Education Officers just for the record.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn the long run, we will determine if the admitted students get permanent transfers,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

However, the Minister urged school bus drivers to take extra precautions during this rainy season to avoid potential risks.<\/p>\n

Different parts of the country have been affected by floods which have ruined key infrastructures, thus deterring the provision of social services.<\/p>\n

Some affected social service infrastructures include roads, schools, bridges, and other facilities.<\/p>\n

Some people have lost their lives, and others have been left homeless, forcing the government to take measures to rescue them, including providing food, shelter, and medical treatment.<\/p>\n
