Africa-Press – Tanzania. <\/strong><\/span>TANZANIA: <\/b>MINISTER of State in the President\u2019s Office (Planning and Investment) Prof Kitila Mkumbo has called for extension of digital finance services to rural areas so that more residents, especially the youths, can benefit.<\/p>\n

Youths are the largest group in the country but have not been reached thoroughly by financial services, thus extending the service to rural areas is vital.<\/p>\n

\u201cDespite some progress made in availing the digital financial services to rural areas , we feel that this progress is not impressively becase more citizens in those areas are struggling. Make sure your services are penetrating to rural areas,\u201d Prof Mkumbo said over the weekend when launching Craft Silicon\u2019s local residence in the country.<\/p>\n

Craft Silicon, is a fintech company that empowers businesses to thrive in today\u2019s fast-paced digital economy through providing digital transformation and innovative fintech solutions.<\/p>\n

The minister said the country\u2019s economy has been growing steadily but rural areas seem to be excluded somehow.<\/p>\n

The arrival of companies such as Craft Silicon, will increase the chances of digital connection to rural residents.<\/p>\n

Speaking about the Silicon motive to establish their office in the country, Prof Mkumbo said it signifies that Tanzania has increasingly become more attractive to for eign investors.<\/p>\n

Craft Silicon\u2019s Group CEO Mr Kamal Budhabhatti said the initiative underscores the company\u2019s commitment to driving fintech innovation across Africa.<\/p>\n

\u201cWith our local presence and expertise, we are wellpositioned to support the growth and development of the country\u2019s fintech ecosystem, empower businesses and drive economic prosperity in the region,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Craft Silicon Tanzania\u2019s CEO, Ms Mili Rughani said the company is dedicated to leveraging local resources and fostering capacity-building initiatives to support the growth and development of local fintech systems in the country. \u201cBy empowering local content and investing in skills development, we are aiming at driving sustainable economic growth and innovation in Tanzania,\u201d said Ms Rughani.<\/p>\n
