{"id":11124,"date":"2020-06-26T16:38:49","date_gmt":"2020-06-26T16:38:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.com\/tanzania\/?p=11124"},"modified":"2020-06-26T16:38:49","modified_gmt":"2020-06-26T16:38:49","slug":"government-hailed-for-installing-road-lights","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/tanzania\/community\/government-hailed-for-installing-road-lights","title":{"rendered":"GOVERNMENT HAILED FOR INSTALLING ROAD LIGHTS"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Author: <i class=\"fa fa-user\"><\/i>SULEIMAN SHAGATA<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>AfricaPress-Tanzania:<\/strong> PETTY traders in Mwanza Region have commended the government for installing road lights, which enable them to continue with their businesses during night hours.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to the africa-press, some petty traders said the situation had changed and they were capable of doing business during night hours without problems.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUnlike before, we used to close our businesses when it turned dark, but now we don\u2019t because there are road lights,\u201d said one of the traders, Ms Monica Samuel.<\/p>\n<p>Among the petty traders in the area sell tomatoes, vegetables, clothes, electrical devices and other products.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith electricity, the streets are safe and we can see each other. Our customers are also safe and free to choose products of their choice,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>Some of the streets which have lights include Uhuru, Balewa, Valley, Mirongo, Machemba and Sekou Toure.<\/p>\n<p>The lights were installed by a Mwanza- based company \u2018Nyanza Road Works\u2019 under the Tanzania Rural and Urban Agency (Tarura).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Author: SULEIMAN SHAGATA AfricaPress-Tanzania: PETTY traders in Mwanza Region have commended the government for installing road lights, which enable them to continue with their businesses during night hours.
