Africa-Press – Tanzania. <\/strong><\/span>Tesla is recalling more than 125,000 vehicles in the US because of a seat belt issue, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).<\/p>\n

The issue covers 125,227 potential vehicles “operating with certain seat belt reminder software logic,” according to documents Tesla filed with the NHTSA.<\/p>\n

“Specifically, when the vehicle ignition is moved to the \u2018on\u2019 or \u2018start\u2019 position and the driver’s seat belt is not fastened, a continuous or intermittent audible signal must activate for not less than four seconds and a visual signal must display for not less than sixty seconds,” said the documents.<\/p>\n

“On certain affected vehicles, an open trace in the driver seat occupancy switch may result in a loss of the audible and visual seat belt reminder signals when the driver\u2019s seat belt is not fastened after the vehicle ignition is moved to the ‘on’ or ‘start’ position,” it added.<\/p>\n

The vehicles include Tesla’s 2012 – 2024 Model S, 2021 – 2024 Model X, 2017 – 2024 Model 3 and 2019 – 2024 Model Y vehicles.<\/p>\n

The American electric carmaker recalled 2.2 million vehicles in February because of a light indicator issue, and 2 million last year amid a defective system that could impair drivers’ attention when using its self-driving feature.<\/p>\n
