Africa-Press – Tanzania. <\/strong><\/span>Dar es Salaam.<\/b> In a significant reshuffle, President Samia Suluhu Hassan has announced a series of appointments and transfers involving key government officials.<\/p>\n

The changes were made public on June 6, 2024, through a statement issued by Chief Secretary Dr Moses Kusiluka.<\/p>\n

In a notable appointment, Ms Zuhura Yunus has been named Deputy Permanent Secretary in the Prime Minister’s Office (Labour, Youth, Employment, and the Disabled).<\/p>\n

Prior to this, Ms Yunus was the Director of Communications at the State House, where she played a crucial role in managing the government’s communication strategies.<\/p>\n

Other significant appointments include Mr Stanslaus Nyongo, who has been appointed Deputy Minister of State in the President’s Office (Planning and Investment).<\/p>\n

Further changes have been made in the positions of Deputy Permanent Secretaries.<\/p>\n

Ms Felister Mdemu has been appointed Deputy Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Community Development, Gender, Women, and Special Groups, focusing on gender and women’s affairs.<\/p>\n

Ms Mdemu was previously the President’s Assistant for Community Development.<\/p>\n

The reshuffle also includes appointments at the district level. Mr Petro Itozya has been named District Commissioner for Kisarawe, transitioning from his role as the President’s Assistant for Politics.<\/p>\n

Ms Fatma Nyangasa, the former District Commissioner for Kisarawe, has been transferred to Kondoa District.<\/p>\n

In another significant move, Dr Hamis Mkanachi has been transferred from Kondoa to Urambo District, replacing Mr Elibariki Bajuta, who will be reassigned.<\/p>\n

The administrative landscape sees further changes with Mr Reuben Chongolo being transferred from Singwe District to Mufindi District, and Mr Frank Sichwele moving from Mufindi to Songwe District.<\/p>\n

President Hassan has also appointed new executive directors for various councils.<\/p>\n

Mr Mussa Kitungi will lead the Mafia District Council, and Ms Kalekwa Kasanga has been appointed Executive Director of Shinyanga District Council, transitioning from her role as a Senior Legal Officer at the Law Reform Commission.<\/p>\n

Additional appointments include Mr Shaaban Mpendu as the Executive Director of Babati Town Council and Ms Sigilinda Mdemu for Mlele District Council.<\/p>\n

Ms Mdemu was previously the Head of the Community Development Department in Kigamboni Municipality.<\/p>\n

Changes in executive leadership also include Ms Upendo Mangali’s transfer from Babati Town Council to Sumbawanga Municipality.<\/p>\n

Mr Kisena Mabuba moves from Shinyanga District Council to become the Executive Director of Kigoma Municipality, succeeding Ms Mwantum Mgonja.<\/p>\n

Ms Teresia Irafay has been transferred from Mlele District Council to Hanang’ District Council.<\/p>\n

The judiciary sees new appointments with Mr Nehemia Mandia, Mr Projestus Kahyoza, and Ms Mariam Omary being named Judges of the High Court of Tanzania.<\/p>\n

Mr Mandia was formerly the President’s Assistant for Legal Affairs, while Mr Kahyoza served as the Senior Deputy Registrar of the High Court, Dodoma Registry.<\/p>\n

Ms Omary moves from her position as Deputy Principal Resident Magistrate of the High Court, Arusha Zone.<\/p>\n

The statement concluded, \u201cThe swearing-in of the Deputy Minister, Deputy Permanent Secretaries, and High Court Judges will be scheduled at a later date.\u201d<\/p>\n
