Africa-Press – Tanzania. <\/strong><\/span>The Foundation for Civil Society (FCS) and the Tanzania Communications Regulatory Authority Consumer Consultative Council (TCRA CCC) have signed a three-year agreement aimed at safeguarding the rights of communication service users in Tanzania.<\/p>\n

The agreement is designed to strengthen efforts in protecting users from unfair commercial practices and ensure service rights and accountability.<\/p>\n

It also aims empower consumers to make informed decisions when purchasing and using communication products and services.<\/p>\n

The Director of FCS Justice Rutenge underscored the importance of business integrity in the rapidly changing market, stressing the need to protect users from unfair practices and fraud.<\/p>\n

He called on businesses to ensure transparency and provide accurate information to avoid misleading consumers.
\nHe said FCS has consistently prioritized citizen welfare, focusing on initiatives that benefit the public.<\/p>\n

On her par Executive Secretary of TCRA CCC, Ms Marry Msuya highlighted the significance of the growing communication sector, noting an increase in internet users to 39.3 million.<\/p>\n

As Tanzania shifts towards a digital economy, Msuya emphasized the need to build user understanding of their rights, responsibilities, and available opportunities.<\/p>\n

She stated that the agreement will enable users to be better informed and make sound decisions regarding communication services and products.<\/p>\n
