{"id":11939,"date":"2020-07-12T17:39:07","date_gmt":"2020-07-12T17:39:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.com\/tanzania\/?p=11939"},"modified":"2020-07-12T17:39:07","modified_gmt":"2020-07-12T17:39:07","slug":"chamwino-state-house-beckons-after-51-years-in-wait","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/tanzania\/community\/chamwino-state-house-beckons-after-51-years-in-wait","title":{"rendered":"CHAMWINO STATE HOUSE BECKONS AFTER 51 YEARS IN WAIT"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Author: <i class=\"fa fa-user\"><\/i>SYLIVESTER DOMASA\u00a0<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>AfricaPress-Tanzania:<\/strong> THE construction of the new State House offices at Chamwino in Dodoma is expected to be completed by the end of this year-concluding nearly 51 years since the founding father of nation, Mwalimu Julius Nyerere inaugurated it.<\/p>\n<p>Initially, Mwalimu Nyerere built a tent to serve the purpose in 1969 and resolved permanently that the government relocates to Dodoma, as the country\u2019s capital city.<\/p>\n<p>The plan was later endorsed by a vote in 1973.<\/p>\n<p>To reinforce that, on Sunday, President John Magufuli announced that his government was focused on making Mwalimu Nyerere\u2019s dream come true.<\/p>\n<p>He said the government has invested massively in infrastructures to make Dodoma measure and reflect a capital city\u2019s status.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to members of CCM\u2019s highest decision-making organ and delegates of the party\u2019s general congress, during special lunch, Dr Magufuli said the government was releasing over 600bn\/- to finance the construction of a 110 kilometres- long outer ring roads in the city.<\/p>\n<p>The President also said an additional 500bn\/- would be released to finance the construction of Msalato International Airport.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have been informed that the construction of this building will be completed in six months\u2019 time from now,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>The new structure is designed with eight units and a basement being built by Tanzania National Service with funding from domestic revenues, a structure that was designed by Tanzania Building Agency (TBA).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Author: SYLIVESTER DOMASA\u00a0 AfricaPress-Tanzania: THE construction of the new State House offices at Chamwino in Dodoma is expected to be completed by the end of this year-concluding nearly 51 years since the founding father of nation, Mwalimu Julius Nyerere inaugurated it.
