Africa-Press – Tanzania. <\/strong><\/span>ZANZIBAR President Dr Hussein Mwinyi has reshuffled Regional Commissioners (RCs), District Commissioners (DCs) and appointed a new Permanent Secretary, a move aimed to improve performance in his administration.<\/p>\n

In a statement issued on Wednesday by the Chief Secretary (CS) and the Revolutionary Council (Cabinet) Secretary Engineer Zena Ahmed Said, the swearing ceremony for the new appointees will take place on Saturday at the Stone Town- based State House.<\/p>\n

President Mwinyi has appointed Mr Rashid Hadid Rashid the new RC for Pemba South Region, shifting him from Unguja North Region. He swaps work stations with Mr Mattar Zahor Masoud.<\/p>\n

Mr Hamid Seif Said has been appointed the new DC for Unguja Urban District after being transferred from Unguja North B District, while Mr Sadifa Juma Khamis takes over as the new DC for Unguja West A District.<\/p>\n

President Mwinyi has also appointed Othman Ali Maulid to become the DC for Unguja South, transferring him from his previous work station as Unguja North \u2018A\u2019 District Commissioner, while Mr Cassian Gallos Nyimbo has been appointed the new DC for Unguja Central, moving him from Unguja South District.<\/p>\n

Mr Khatib Juma Mjaja has been appointed the new DC for Micheweni in North Pemba, transferring him from Mkoani District in Pemba South while Mr Abdalla Rashid Ali is the new DC for Wete in North Pemba after being moved from Chakechake District in South Pemba.<\/p>\n

Mr Hamad Omar Bakar is the new DC for Mkoani in South Pemba, moving him from Wete, while Ms Mgeni Khatib Hassan has been appointed DC for Chakechake, Pemba, moving her from Micheweni, Pemba.<\/p>\n

The president has also appointed Mr Juma Sururu Juma to become DC for Unguja North \u2018B.\u2019 Prior to his appointment, he served as senior officer in Zanzibar Ministry of State-President\u2019s Office (Constitution, Legal Affairs, Public and Good Governance).<\/p>\n

Ms Hawwah Ibrahim Mbaye is the new Deputy Permanent Secretary (responsible for Communication and Transport) in the Zanzibar Ministry of the Infrastructure, Communication and Transport.<\/p>\n
