Africa-Press – Tanzania. <\/strong><\/span>THE Sauti ya Umma (SAU) presidential candidate, Mr Majalio Kyara, has pledged to tackle the challenges facing Tanzanian youth-particularly unemployment by creating 10 million jobs within the next five years if elected in the upcoming General Election.<\/p>\n

Mr Kyara made his commitment during the launch of election campaign at Ukonga Mombasa in Dar es Salaam, where the party also unveiled its 2025\u20132030 manifesto.<\/p>\n

The event brought together party leaders, supporters, citizens, parliamentary and councillor candidates, as well as SAU\u2019s running mate, Satia Bebwa.<\/p>\n

Mr Kyara said the party\u2019s strategy will focus on investment in industries, research and skills development, alongside modernising agriculture and promoting agribusiness.<\/p>\n

\u201cSAU is committed to creating 10 million jobs within the next five years. Our strategy emphasises industries, research, skills development, agriculture and agribusiness as key job creation avenues,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The SAU manifesto, Kyara noted, places youth at the centre of national development by systematically addressing unemployment and nurturing talent.<\/p>\n

He said many young people are struggling due to lack of opportunities, promising to establish a structured system to identify, support and grow their skills in academics, sports and other sectors.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur manifesto prioritises the youth. Currently, there is no proper system to recognise and nurture talent. We want to build one that develops these skills for the benefit of individuals and the nation at large,\u201d he emphasised.<\/p>\n

The manifesto outlines SAU\u2019s vision for the next five years, focusing on improving citizens\u2019 quality of life and tackling poverty, unemployment, disease and inadequate infrastructure.<\/p>\n

It is anchored on three pillars agriculture, industry and technology.<\/p>\n

On agriculture, he described the sector as \u201cthe lifeblood of the country,\u201d pledging to transform it into a modern, sustainable and profitable system.<\/p>\n

He said SAU will promote organic farming to strengthen food security, protect the environment and combat climate change, while also expanding domestic seed production to reduce reliance on costly imports.<\/p>\n

On industry, he said SAU aims to build a strong and sustainable industrial base that creates jobs and adds value to Tanzania\u2019s raw materials.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe want to establish industrial clusters. We have the resources, land and resilient population to make this happen,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Economically, Kyara pledged to ensure Tanzanians are primary beneficiaries of their economy.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf a project cannot be fully undertaken by Tanzanians, then by law, citizens must hold at least 30 per cent ownership. We will introduce legislation to guarantee Tanzanians benefit from investment in their own country,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

He also committed to ethical governance inspired by the values of Tanzania\u2019s founding leaders.<\/p>\n

\u201cI will work with public servants who fear God, respect justice and uphold ethics,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
