Africa-Press – Tanzania. <\/strong><\/span>PRESIDENTIAL candidate for the Alliance for Democratic Change (ADC), Mr Wilson Mulumbe has pledged if elected president, his government will provide borehole drilling vehicles to every local government authority in the country.<\/p>\n

The aim is to permanently resolve the problem of access to clean and safe water for all Tanzanians.<\/p>\n

Mr Mulumbe made the pledge yesterday during a presidential campaign rally at Bomba la Zambia, in Kingolwira Ward, Morogoro Municipality. He was accompanied by his running mate, Shoka Khamis Juma.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe water crisis has been a long-standing challenge for many Tanzanians. If elected, my administration will prioritise this issue to ensure every citizen has access to clean water,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Mr Mulumbe said that ADC has a clear and realistic development agenda, focused on effective resource management, transparent governance and eliminating corruption in public service delivery.<\/p>\n

He also pledged to place all local government chairpersons on a formal payroll, recognising their important role in driving community development.<\/p>\n

In addition to solving the water crisis, Mr Mulumbe outlined plans to improve education, healthcare, energy supply and road infrastructure to uplift the social and economic well-being of Tanzanians.<\/p>\n

The ADC 2025\u20132030 Election Manifesto outlines several priorities aimed at delivering equitable and inclusive services to all citizens, regardless of location or background.<\/p>\n

Among the key promises include free education through all levels of schooling, free healthcare for life, interest-free loans and equal access to opportunities in all sectors.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is not just a party manifesto, it is our national promise. A vision for all people,\u201d Mr Mulumbe said.<\/p>\n

The ADC manifesto also proposes a ban on hospitals withholding bodies over unpaid bills, ensuring families can bury their loved ones with dignity and without undue financial burden.<\/p>\n

The party also proposes an alternative education model, where students who complete Standard 7 are directed to vocational training to equip them with income-generating skills.<\/p>\n

This is in response to the current system\u2019s shortcomings in enabling self-employment and its prolonged schooling timeline.<\/p>\n

On healthcare, the ADC promises comprehensive free treatment, including fully government-funded overseas medical referrals for patients with serious conditions.<\/p>\n

The party also proposes to raise the national retirement age to 70, arguing that many retirees still have the energy and capacity to contribute meaningfully to national development.<\/p>\n

However, the manifesto clarifies that retirement reforms will be tailored carefully, especially in critical sectors such as specialist healthcare, advanced engineering and scientific research, where retaining skilled professionals for longer will serve the national interest.<\/p>\n
