{"id":144137,"date":"2025-11-16T19:37:06","date_gmt":"2025-11-16T19:37:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/tanzania\/all-news\/samias-speech-earns-kudos"},"modified":"2025-11-16T20:28:32","modified_gmt":"2025-11-16T20:28:32","slug":"samias-speech-earns-kudos","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/tanzania\/all-news\/samias-speech-earns-kudos","title":{"rendered":"Samia\u2019s speech earns kudos"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Tanzania. <\/strong><\/span>MEMBERS of Parliament and political analysts have hailed President Samia Suluhu Hassan\u2019s maiden speech when inaugurating the 13th Parliament, calling it historic, hopeful and visionary.<\/p>\n<p>They noted that it sets a strong foundation for national unity and accelerated development over the next five years.<\/p>\n<p>The MPs expressed confidence that the speech delivered on Friday in Dodoma, outlined clear strategies to address challenges facing youth and other key development sectors.<\/p>\n<p>Nominated MP, Dr Dorothy Gwajima, commended President Samia for delivering a speech that touched every critical sector of the economy, particularly special groups.<\/p>\n<p>Dr Gwajima said the speech demonstrated modern leadership and a progressive vision, especially in recognising young people as a pivotal force in today\u2019s global landscape.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPresident Samia is a forwardthinking leader. By establishing a dedicated ministry for youth, their ideas will be heard, their voices included and they will meaningfully participate in the country\u2019s development agenda. When you empower the youth, you empower the nation,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>She added that the President clearly outlined major development strategies aimed at expanding job opportunities and simplifying access to essential services.<\/p>\n<p>She cited improvements in infrastructure, expansion of the SGR, strengthened port capacity and opportunities in agriculture and livestock as examples of inclusive development initiatives.<\/p>\n<p>Kisarawe MP and former Minister for Industry and Trade, Dr Suleiman Jafo, described the address as \u2018historic and weighty,\u2019 noting that it reflected the aspirations of every Tanzanian.<\/p>\n<p>He said the President\u2019s plan to establish a national water grid is a bold move that will revolutionise water supply across the country.<\/p>\n<p>In the industrial sector, Dr Jafo said the President\u2019s intention to create industrial hubs, clusters and zones aims at expanding employment opportunities, especially for youth.<\/p>\n<p>He added that no sector was overlooked, highlighting a strong focus on agro-processing to boost value addition and expand the employment chain.<\/p>\n<p>Kilosa MP (CCM), Prof Paramagamba Kabudi, said the speech reflected the dreams and aspirations of many Tanzanians. He noted the President\u2019s commitment to expanding transport infrastructure to connect Tanzania with neighbouring countries, thereby opening economic opportunities.<\/p>\n<p>He added that plans to establish an industrial zone in every district will stimulate youth employment and strengthen local economies.<\/p>\n<p>Buchosa MP, Eric Shigongo, said the speech projected a promising future, outlining plans that will accelerate economic growth.<\/p>\n<p>He welcomed the President\u2019s commitment to increasing the budget for the Rural and Urban Roads Agency (TARURA), saying it will improve rural accessibility and boost productivity.<\/p>\n<p>Tarime Urban MP (CCM), Esther Matiko, said the address carried great hope, especially for young people, proposing strengthening patriotism education among the youth to curb indiscipline and negative influence.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWithout patriotism, young people are easily misled. I commend the President for pardoning youth arrested during the recent skirmishes. Many were young who didn\u2019t fully understand the consequences of their actions,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>Bukoba Urban MP (CCM), Eng Johnston Mutasingwa, said the speech touched all key areas and reflected the needs of ordinary Tanzanians.<\/p>\n<p>He described President Samia as a compassionate leader, citing her decision to pardon youths involved in post-election disturbances.<\/p>\n<p>Financial analyst, Paulo Lucumay welcomed the government\u2019s plan to establish a dedicated Ministry for Youth Affairs, describing it as a major step that reflects President Samia\u2019s recognition of the significant role young people play in today\u2019s rapidly changing world.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Lucumay said that creating such a ministry marks the beginning of fully utilising the potential of young people to advance their own development as well as that of the nation.<\/p>\n<p>He noted that the President\u2019s intention to bring young people closer, including appointing a youth affairs adviser at State House, shows the government\u2019s commitment to listening to them.<\/p>\n<p>Legal expert and diplomat, Ms Zainab Hassan applauded President Samia\u2019s speech describing it as powerful and hopeful for Tanzanians.<\/p>\n<p>Ms Hassani said that gender equality will improve government policies, address specific challenges and create a fair society where individuals have equal opportunities to succeed, benefiting the entire nation.<\/p>\n<p>On his part, Advocate of the High Court and international affairs expert Novatus Igosha said President Samia\u2019s decision to form an inquiry commission to determine the root causes of the unrest during the General Election is crucial to the nation\u2019s healing process.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Igosha noted: \u201cThis move serves as a political signal of transparency and institutional responsiveness, positioning the state as committed to truth-seeking, reconciliation and corrective justice.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>For More News And Analysis About <span style=\"color: #ff6600\">Tanzania<\/span> Follow <span style=\"color: #ff6600\">Africa-Press<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa-Press &#8211; Tanzania.
