{"id":149265,"date":"2026-02-27T22:38:32","date_gmt":"2026-02-27T22:38:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/tanzania\/all-news\/magomeni-market-traders-praise-government-loan-system"},"modified":"2026-02-27T22:55:10","modified_gmt":"2026-02-27T22:55:10","slug":"magomeni-market-traders-praise-government-loan-system","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/tanzania\/all-news\/magomeni-market-traders-praise-government-loan-system","title":{"rendered":"Magomeni Market Traders Praise Government Loan System"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span class=\"ap-article-header-tag\"> <strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Tanzania. <\/strong> <\/span>SMALL-SCALE traders at Magomeni Market, in Dar es Salaam, have expressed satisfaction with government-backed loans managed by the Ministry of Community Development, Gender, Women, and Special Groups through NMB Bank.<\/p>\n<p>The traders spoke up during a visit by the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Community Development, Gender, Women and Special Groups, Dr John Jingu, who toured the market to meet them and see firsthand how they have benefited from the loans aimed at strengthening and expanding their businesses.<\/p>\n<p>During the visit, Dr Jingu visited several stalls, listening to the traders\u2019 success stories and pledged the government\u2019s commitment to continue creating a supportive environment for access to loans for special groups, particularly women and youth, to boost employment and stimulate economic growth among low-income citizens.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c I am happy to see you continue to benefit from these loans. The government aims to help you grow your capital and expand your businesses,\u201d the PS said.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking at the market, a small trader, Sofia Mohamed, said the loan she received has significantly helped improve her business, allowing her to increase capital, expand her product range, and raise her daily income.<\/p>\n<p>Similarly, George Mbena, another trader at the market, thanked the government for initiating and continuing the loan program, noting that it has helped many traders strengthen their businesses and grow their capital.<\/p>\n<p>He called on the government to increase loan amounts to further support business growth.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ap-article-footer-note\">Find more news and analyses on <span class=\"ap-highlight-country\">Tanzania<\/span> on the <span class=\"ap-highlight-brand\">Africa Press<\/span> website<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa-Press &#8211; Tanzania.
