Preparations for the Golden Jubilee of the Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair (DITF) have reached 35%. The Tanzania Trade Development Authority is enhancing infrastructure and engaging stakeholders to ensure a successful event. This year’s fair will promote local products and attract international participants, reinforcing Tanzania’s trade position.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Africa-Press – Tanzania. <\/strong> <\/span>PREPARATIONS for the Golden Jubilee of the Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair (DITF) have reached 35 per cent as organisers intensify efforts to deliver a historic and impactful event.<\/p>\n

The Tanzania Trade Development Authority (Tantrade) Director General, Dr Latifa Khamis, told the Daily News yesterday that coordination and implementation of key activities are progressing steadily, with major focus now placed on operational readiness and stakeholder engagement.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe preparations have reached a developing stage, and we are continuing with key activities to ensure the exhibition meets the expected standards of a Golden Jubilee event,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

The ongoing preparations include rehabilitation and upgrading of critical infrastructure within the fairgrounds as well as allocation of exhibition booths to both local and international participants.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese include improvements in electricity supply, water systems and internal road networks to ensure a smooth and efficient environment for exhibitors and visitors,\u201d said Dr Khamis.<\/p>\n

She said that the 50th anniversary of the DITF commonly known as Saba Saba will be a landmark event aimed at showcasing the country\u2019s industrial and commercial transformation over the past five decades.<\/p>\n

According to Dr Khamis, this year\u2019s exhibition will also be distinguished by the promotion of the national \u201cMade in Tanzania\u201d brand, which is expected to take centre stage in highlighting locally manufactured products and boosting domestic industries.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn collaboration with the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Confederation of Tanzania Industries (CTI), we will ensure that local manufacturers get a platform to promote goods produced in the country and reflect the real capacity of our industries,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

The golden jubilee exhibition is expected to attract participants from at least 30 countries, underscoring the growing international appeal of the DITF as a key trade and investment platform in the region.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe anticipated participation of multiple countries is expected to open up new opportunities for business partnerships, technology transfer and foreign investment, while reinforcing Tanzania\u2019s position as a regional trade hub,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

The DG said with preparations gaining momentum, TanTrade, in collaboration with key partners, is determined to ensure the 2026 exhibition becomes a memorable, high-impact event that leaves a lasting legacy for the country\u2019s economy and strengthens its global trade footprint.<\/p>\n

A Dar es Salaam business woman, Stella Shaibu expressed optimism that the DITF golden jubilee will not only celebrate past achievements but also set the stage for future growth in the industrial and trade sectors.<\/p>\n

The Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair (DITF) has been a significant event in Tanzania since its inception, showcasing the country’s industrial and commercial growth. Celebrating its 50th anniversary, the DITF aims to highlight the progress made over five decades and promote local manufacturing through the ‘Made in Tanzania’ initiative.
