Funding has been allocated for key projects, and public engagement is encouraged to enhance the event&#8217;s impact.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><span class=\"ap-article-header-tag\"> <strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Tanzania. <\/strong> <\/span>TANZANIA\u2019S preparations for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations are on schedule, with the government reaffirming its commitment to co-hosting the tournament and dismissing speculation of delays.<\/p>\n<p>The Minister for Information, Arts, Culture and Sports Paul Makonda said planning remains aligned with timelines agreed with Confederation of African Football, as Tanzania, Uganda and Kenya prepare to jointly stage the competition \u2014 the first time the finals will be hosted by three nations.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAll preparations are proceeding as planned and there are no changes to the tournament schedule,\u201d Makonda said in Dodoma, brushing aside social media claims of a possible postponement as unfounded.<\/p>\n<p>He added that President Samia Suluhu Hassan has already released funding for key projects, underlining the government\u2019s intent to deliver a tournament that meets continental standards.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe schedule remains exactly as planned. The Confederation Africa de Football (CAF) President Patrice Motsepe and his executive team have met, agreed and confirmed that the tournament will take place, with Tanzania as a joint host,\u201d Makonda said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur President has provided all the required resources, so the rumours circulating online are nothing more than noise. To me, they serve as a reminder and motivation that AFCON is coming.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Beyond infrastructure and logistics, Makonda called for broader public engagement, urging Tanzanians to contribute ideas across sports, arts, culture and media to maximise the tournament\u2019s impact.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are offering space to every Tanzanian with a creative idea. Bring it forward, we will review it, support it and work with you without obstacles. Our doors are open,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Makonda also urged leaders of associations in arts, sports, media and culture to strengthen collaboration with the ministry to advance talent development and sector growth.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf you have any initiative or challenge in these sectors, bring it to us.
