\nAfricaPress-Tanzania:<\/strong> TANZANIA Association of Accountants (TAA) plans to utilise qualified accountants to ease a shortage of business and accountants teachers in secondary schools.<\/p>\n

TAA Chairperson Lucas Mwambuja said the move also aimed at motivating secondary school students to pursue studies which would enable them to take business and accounting courses at high learning institutions.<\/p>\n

\u201cTAA is in talks with concerned ministries on the best way possible of bridging this gap. It may be by dispatching accountants working in different areas to volunteer and teach business subjects in those schools,\u201d Mr Mwambuja said during the awards giving ceremony to best students in Dar es Salaam.<\/p>\n

The initiative if goes as planned, the volunteering programme envisages reaching out to a wide range of schools countrywide as accountants are everywhere working in different public and private entities.<\/p>\n

Speaking on the programme, the chair said \u201cour accountants\u2019 reputation goes beyond our borders and currently are mentoring profession in Malawi after doing the same in Uganda and Rwanda.\u201d<\/p>\n

During the ceremony, 10 girls and 10 boys who scored brilliantly in business and commerce in their Advanced Secondary School Examinations were awarded with certificates of recognition by TAA.
