AfricaPress-Tanzania:<\/strong> THE government has sent condolence to family and relatives of the popular artiste and comedian Gladys Chiduo \u2018Zipompapompa\u2019 who passed away in Dar es Salaam on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

The government spokesman and the Ministry of Information, Culture, Arts and Sports Permanent Secretary, Dr Hassan Abassi said from Dodoma on Wednesday that the sudden demise is a big blow to the whole nation and the ruling Chama Cha Mapinduzi(CCM) as she served all very well.<\/p>\n

Well known by her stage name Zipompapompa, Gladys was also a popular MC in various occasions organised by CCM, to the extent her untimely death was looked as a big blow to the entire performing art in Tanzania.<\/p>\n

Zipompapompa worked with popular artistes most notably the late King Majuto, the late Small Wangamba and the late Mzee Small and Joti.<\/p>\n

She also participated in the various radio dramas aired by the then Radio Tanzania Dar es Salaam (RTD) before it changed its name to Tanzania Broadcasting Cor<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
