Africa-Press<\/a> – Tanzania<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>THE government has reiterated its commitment to address all challenges associated with investments in the country, commending the Confederation of Tanzania Industries (CTI) for taking leading role in solving its members restrictions.<\/p>\n

This was said in Dar es Salaam by the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Industry and Trade Prof. Riziki Shemdoe when officiating the launch of Manufactures Information Portal (MIP) prepared by CTI to help business people.<\/p>\n

Delivering his speech to inaugurate the 12th parliament, President John Magufuli insisted on the need to assist people wanting to invest in Tanzania.<\/p>\n

\u201cI hope you have heard President\u2019s speech that in the next five years his government the private sector will be given unique priorities and this show how the government is prioritising investors and majority of them are members of CTI,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

He said the MIP portal is a result of partnership between CTI and Trade Mark East Africa (TMEA) aimed at creating a prime source of information on procedures and requirements of manufacturing and associated industries in the country \u201cIt is my hope that through that portal, existing and aspiring manufacturers will have access to much needed information on regulatory procedures and requirements necessary for the establishment and running of successful operations while complying with all the rules and regulations in Tanzania,\u201d he said \u201cI would like to take this opportunity to commend CTI for this wonderful initiative which aligns with government initiatives such as Tanzania National Business Portal under the Ministry of Industry and Trade,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

CTI Policy Specialist Frank Dafa said the confederation believes that having predictable environment is essential in maintaining a competitive advantage in both domestic and foreign markets.<\/p>\n

\u201cSpecifically we commend initiatives to improve the business environment through the preparation and adoption of the blueprint for regulatory reforms. We are happy that the government has already started numerous measures such as the implementation of reforms from the blue print recommendation leading to the removal of 173 fees,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

He said the launched portal is the CTI initiative with the support of Trade Mark East Africa (TMEA), and its partner UKAID, Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Irish Aid.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Portal provides practical solution to the information problem facing the manufacturing sector and contributes to easing of compliance to regulations, procedures and reduce the cost of doing business, by making regulatory information relevant to the manufacturing sector available to the public,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
