{"id":20443,"date":"2020-12-22T20:29:51","date_gmt":"2020-12-22T20:29:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.com\/tanzania\/?p=20443"},"modified":"2020-12-22T20:29:51","modified_gmt":"2020-12-22T20:29:51","slug":"m-pesa-customers-to-reap-3-9bn-in-dividend","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/tanzania\/all-news\/m-pesa-customers-to-reap-3-9bn-in-dividend","title":{"rendered":"M-Pesa customers to reap 3.9bn\/- in dividend"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.com\">Africa-Press<\/a> &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.com\/tanzania\">Tanzania<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>VODACOM Tanzania Plc yesterday said it will dish out a total of 3.9bn\/- in dividend to its M-Pesa customers who have used the service from April to June this year.<\/p>\n<p>The dividend payment covers the first quarter of the company\u2019s financial year, and it will be paid to M-Pesa Customers, M-Pesa agents, M-Pesa Super Agents, MPesa Business as well as MPesa Merchants.<\/p>\n<p>The M-Pesa Business Head of Department, Happiness Shuma said, \u201cOur mobile money service, M-Pesa, continues to be a remarkable success story, delivering significant social and financial value to Tanzanians.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have seen substantial growth on the M-Pesa platform with more customers, agents, merchants and institutions transacting around 100bn\/- through M-Pesa each day. This is why today we can disburse 3.9bn\/- in interest to our customers,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>According to Tanzania Communication Regulatory Authority (TCRA), Vodacom Tanzania Plc has over 10 million customers on its M-Pesa platform commanding a market share of 40 per cent.<\/p>\n<p>Vodacom Tanzania has so far paid out a total of 143.5bn\/- as interest to its M-Pesa customers.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa-Press &#8211; Tanzania.
