Africa-Press<\/a> – Tanzania<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>THE construction of 20 houses worth 560.8m\/- for police officers is in its final stages and the houses are set to be in use early next month.<\/p>\n

The houses have capacity to accommodate 18 families, Regional Police Commander SACP Henry Mwaibambe told Inspector General of Police (IGP) Simon Sirro during his recent tour to inspect the project.<\/p>\n

The RPC clarified that 60.8m\/- out of the total budget was from various development stakeholders, including the Association of Traders in the region.<\/p>\n

\u201cA total of 500m\/- is the amount you (IGP) offered. The project was set to be completed in October this year, but we faced various challenges. Despite the situation, the construction is at 90 per cent and the houses will be in use soon,” said the RPC.<\/p>\n

After inspection, the IGP insisted that the houses should be in use as planned (January), while urging occupiers to make good use of them for the current and coming Police Force generations.<\/p>\n

“They should be in good look from the day you get in and the day you retire. Take care of them as they take care of you,” commented the IGP.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the Inspector General said the Police Force had introduced special investigation desks at district level after observing an increase in cybercrime cases.<\/p>\n

“Already some of our staff members have received special training at national and international level on how best to deal with cybercrimes. They will keep on attending such training in phases because cybercrimes are a new issue in our country, hence there is a need for more efficiency in the fight against cybercrimes,” he said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
