Africa-Press<\/a> – Tanzania<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>SIMBA have settled the dust, confirming with photos the signing of virtuoso midfielder, Clatous Chama.<\/p>\n

Previously it was revealed that the Zambian international had signed a two-year contarct extension with the club but since no pictures were released to confirm the signing, some quarters remained skeptical.<\/p>\n

But the latest release of photos was a clear indication that those who wanted his services should forget or rather talk to the Msimbazi Street club with probably a big offer on hand.<\/p>\n

Haji Manara, Simba Sports Club\u2019s head of information released the photos showing Chama flanked by the club\u2019s financier, Mohammed Dewji, alias \u2018Mo\u2019 on his right hand and club\u2019s chief executive officer (CEO), Barbara Gonzalez in his social media platforms saying that Chama belongs to his club.<\/p>\n

The midfielder had been linked with Yanga but his new deal is set to tie him down to the Mainland Champions until 2023.<\/p>\n

The signing by Zambian international therefore ends transfer speculation that he could go to another club.<\/p>\n

The release of photo that went viral came in the wake of rumors that he had not signed for the club, hence ending the race for his signature.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere are those who asked for the picture showing Chama signing the contract,\u201d posted the outspoken Simba\u2019s spokesman.<\/p>\n

Speculation around Chama\u2019s future have been growing since last year and many reports had indicated he was ready to ditch Simba and sign for Yanga SC.<\/p>\n

Chama has been one of the most outstanding attacking midfielders in the country since he joined Simba in 2018 from Lusaka Dynamos.<\/p>\n

He finished the 2019\/20 season as the Most Valuable Player after a stellar season with Simba, where they won three trophies – the Mainland Premier League, the Azam Shield Cup and the Community Shield.<\/p>\n

Despite stiff competition in a midfield that boasts of Miraji Athumani, Luis Miquissone, Francis Kahata, Larry Bwalya, Bernard Morrison, and Ibrahim Ajibu, Chama has always maintained a starting position in not only domestic tournaments, but also in CAF Champions League assignments under Belgian Sven Vandenbroeck \u2013 who left and signed for FAR Rabat on Saturday.<\/p>\n

Among his notable success was his goal against Plateau United of Nigeria in the preliminary round to power Simba to the first round.<\/p>\n

He also scored against Platinum FC, as the Tanzanian giants routed the Zimbabwean side 4-0 after going down 1-0 in Harare.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
