AfricaPress-Tanzania:<\/strong> President John Magufuli has pardoned 1,789 Ethiopian prisoners jailed for entering the country illegally.<\/p>\n

The release of the inmates is a result of talks held in Chato on Monday between President Magufuli and his visiting Ethiopian counterpart Sahle-Work Zewde.<\/p>\n

The two African countries enjoy good relations since the 1960s during the regimes of Mwalimu Julius Nyerere and Ethiopia\u2019s Emperor Haile Sellasie.<\/p>\n

President Magufuli both nation are devising ways to release the pardoned prisoners who entered on transit to an unknown destination.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Dr Magufuli has welcomed Ethiopian investors in the leather industry.<\/p>\n
