AfricaPress-Tanzania:<\/strong> OVER 350m\/- has been distributed to nearly 5,000 households proved to be legible in benefiting in the Productive Social Safety Net (PSSN II) project in Magu District, Mwanza Region.<\/p>\n

The project launched by President John Magufuli, last year has over 2tri \/- set aside for it and being implemented by the Tanzania Social Action Fund (TASAF) countrywide.<\/p>\n

Commenting on the project under TASAF in third phase, a beneficiary from Nyashigwe village in Chagula Ward, Makoye Linda said the money has been raising their livelihoods.<\/p>\n

\u201cI became the beneficiary in 2015 when I received 78,000\/- for the first time. I used the money to start poultry and now have over 5m\/- keeping hens and some livestock,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

Mr Linda said the reliable payment has made them form some local saving groups, where members individually contribute 5,000\/- on monthly basis and thereafter get soft loans.<\/p>\n

According to the District TASAF Coordinator, Mr Daniel Sanyenge, the area has 82 villages, but only 54 enjoy their benefits, adding: \u201cWe plan to involve also the other villages currently not reached.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
