AfricaPress-Tanzania:<\/strong> TANZANIA lady golfers have been invited to take part in this year\u2019s Entebbe Ladies Golf Open Championship in Uganda early next month.<\/p>\n

The annual Entebbe Ladies Golf Open is scheduled to tee off on March 5th and 6th at the par 71 lakeside Entebbe Golf Club course.<\/p>\n

The two-day tournament is expected to bring together top players from Uganda and also invited golfers from the East African region.<\/p>\n

Tanzania Ladies Golf Union (TLGU) honourary secretary Madina Idd told the ‘africa-press ‘ from Arusha this week to confirming of the invitation from Ugandan Ladies Golf Union (ULGU).<\/p>\n

Madina said they have received the invitation with thanks and they have already distributed it to its members countrywide.<\/p>\n

“This is an individual tournament that players can arrange and participate. “It is one of the important tournaments for one to get experience and test other top golfers of the region,” she said.<\/p>\n

Madina, who herself made her name in the event when won the overall title during the 2013 showdown. Among the title\u2019s top contenders include the defending champion, also a six-time winner Irene Nakalembe from Uganda.<\/p>\n

However, this time she will face a stiff challenge from well-established Tanzanian golfers include Angel Eaton, Vicky Elias, Hawa Wanyeche, Neema Olomi, and Madina herself if all goes well.<\/p>\n

Ladies will battle it out in the group A eligible for golfers with handicap from 0 to 16 \u2013 Silver division, group B for those with handicap from 17 to 25 \u2013 Bronze while Group C is for those with handicap from 26 to 36.<\/p>\n

She said the ladies are kind enough to also invite men who will play in the subsidiary category.<\/p>\n

They will be group A for those with handicap from 0 to 9, group B for those who play off from handicap from 10 to 18 and group C for players with handicap from 19 to 28.<\/p>\n

Madina said entry fee for ladies silver and bronze divisions will be UGX 80,000 while subsidiary is UGX 50,000.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
