AfricaPress-Tanzania:<\/strong> THE government has reiterated that during the second five-year term of President John Magufuli it will be focusing more on economic diplomacy, strengthening the private sector and international trade.<\/p>\n

Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation Minister, Prof Palamagamba Kabudi, gave the country\u2019s stand in Dar es Salaam during his meeting with ambassadors representing different countries in Tanzania as well as heads of international organisations.<\/p>\n

Prof Kabudi said it was Tanzania\u2019s intent to ensure it had enough capacity to increase trade and export products to various countries worldwide.<\/p>\n

\u201cDuring this term it is the right time for Tanzania to strengthen economic diplomacy and friendly relations with other countries to attract more investors from those nations to come to invest in various sectors of the economy and increase trade,\u201d the minister noted.<\/p>\n

Among other things, Prof Kabudi told the ambassadors and heads of international organisations that political situation in Tanzania had generally stabilised more than before especially after the October 28 general election.<\/p>\n

The presence of the Government of National Unity (GNU) in Zanzibar motivates an increase in investments and trade for economic growth.<\/p>\n

Commenting, head of diplomats in the country, Dr Ahmada El Badasui, who is Ambassador of Comoro to Tanzania, said the meeting with the foreign minister gave them an opportunity to know current issues happening in the country.<\/p>\n

\u201cI congratulate you the minister on organizing this meeting to discuss and know various issues happening in this country. Meetings like this one are very important to us because they help improve our diplomatic relations,\u201d Dr El Badasui stated.<\/p>\n

For his part, EU Ambassador to Tanzania Manfredo Fanti hailed Tanzania for attaining the middle-income economy status, assuring that the EU was ready to cooperate more and boost economic growth.<\/p>\n

The meeting was also attended by the ministry\u2019s Deputy Minister William Tate Ole Nasha and Permanent Secretary Brig-Gen Wilbert Ibuge and heads of the ministry\u2019s directorates and departments.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
