AfricaPress-Tanzania:<\/strong> RESIDENTS of the Magomeni Quarters area will start moving into the 50bn\/- Magomeni residential buildings in April this year.<\/p>\n

This was said on Tuesday\u00a0by the Tanzania Building Agency (TBA) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Architect Daudi Kandoro, while briefing Deputy Minister for Works and Transport Eng Godfrey Kasekenya.<\/p>\n

He said that the project has reached 91 per cent completion and that\u00a0TBA anticipates to hand it over by April this year.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe ongoing project is now at 91 per cent\u2026 what remains, is just minor finishing task with external settings,\u201d he told the Deputy Minister visiting the site.<\/p>\n

Arch Kandoro said the technicians were working day and night in rotation to ensure they finish the project within the agreed time.<\/p>\n

He said the construction of the area has taken into account all the criteria including children safety, children’s play grounds and a lounge area for residents and visitors. Arch Kandoro said until the completion of the project, it will cost 50bn\/-<\/p>\n

Expressing his satisfaction at the TBA\u2019s performance, the Deputy Minister, said he hoped they will complete the remaining portion in time.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m impressed with the progress of this project. We must be proud of the work done by our fellow Tanzanians, and it is our hope that the project will be completed as they said,\u201d said Eng Kasekenya<\/p>\n

Earlier, TBA Project Manager, Bernard Mahemba said 644 residents who surrendered their land for the project has made TBA to construct five flats, four of which have eight floors, and the other with nine floors, all accommodating 656 tenants.<\/p>\n

Mahemba said shopping facilities will also be available among other various services.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile,<\/strong>\u00a0The Tanzania Building Agency (TBA) has paid over 800m\/- outstanding balance to contractors involved in the rehabilitation of Ihungo Secondary School buildings that were damaged by earthquake in September 10, 2016, reports MEDDY MULISA from Bukoba.<\/p>\n

Kagera Regional TBA Manager, Salim Chanzo said the payments followed a directive by President John Magufuli to TBA to ensure that the outstanding payment was cleared within seven days.<\/p>\n
